31/07/16 - Wisemans Ferry

As a keen student of early Australian history I was well aware of the importance of the Hawkesbury River and Wisemans Ferry but had never been out this way. So we took a day trip to have alook around this area, one day we will come back and do the mailboat trip, this mailboat still delivers the mail along the river and takes passengers.

This time around the only way we could go on the water was on the ferry, a very scenic river crossing.

30/07/16 - Wollstonecraft

The main reason we came to Sydney was to pick up a Honda 20i generator which he had bought earlier in the trip and the bloke was holding for us. It was located in Wollstonecraft and at first blush it didn't look all that far, in distance anyway, and being a Saturday it should be relatively quiet traffic wise.

Well, this is Sydney and with heavy traffic and an accident creating a bottleneck about halfway it took us 2 1/2 hours to do 57km! Just as well we have mobile phones these days so we could update thhe bloke on our progress, or the lack thereof!

Did the return trip in under 2 hours as there were no accidents to hold us up.

Boy I would hate to "live" in Sydney!

Anyway, the trip was worth it as the generator was in very good nick, started easily and cost us less than 1/3 of the new price.

Finished off the day with a nice buffet dinner at the Richmond Club with an overwhelming choice of very high quality dishes.

29/07/16 - Morisset - Richmond

If we were in any doubt as to whether we were further south this morning certainly removed that. Although we hadn't noticed that it was a very cool night, the 5'er is very well insulated, when we opened the door this morning we were greeted with a beautiful frosty morning.

So after a leisurely breakfast we set off for Richmond, a NE suburb of Sydney, where we going to camp for a few days at the Richmond Club. Here you can join the Club, for a measly $5pa and get the use of their camping facilities in a separate carpark to the rear of the Club.

This facility is well frequented and I can see why.

28/07/16 - Buladelah - Morisset

Making our way to Sydney where we are due to pick up a Honda 20i generator we bought from a CMCA forum member whilst we were still in Queensland, he has been hanging on to it since then but as we already paid for it at least he was sure we would be picking it up!

We decided to stop over halfway there, in Morisset at the Showground, as we didn't want to arrive in Sydney during peak hour, traffic is bad enough outside of peak hour.

27/07/16 - Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse

Went for a side trip to Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse in the Myall Lakes National Park, very scenic area.

On our return to camp we found it had become quite busy, Buladelah is obviously a popular freecamp.

26/07/16 - Kempsey - Buladelah

Buladelah is on the Myall Lakes and a nice little town it is with  a great free camp right on the water.

25/07/16 - Maclean - Kempsey

Quick overnight stop in Kempsey, very blustery and a not very inspiring town.
