When we left to go to Maleny, an (what should have been ) easy 35kms away, we only got 1 km up the road only to find that the bridge over the same creek that runs along the showground was under water and the road was closed.
By 12noon the bridge finally re-opened and we set off again, but we were to find another 4 roads closed and several land slides before we finally got to Maleny 90 mins later!
We decided to leave the Maleny Wood Expo in plenty of time as there were still reports of road closures, so we left at 3:45pm and sure enough every road to get us to Woodford was closed so we had to go east to Beerwah where got on the M1 which we had to follow all the way down to Caboolture where we could then get on the 85 to Woodford where we arrived at 5:45pm.
At least we saw a bit of the countryside around Maleny I guess!
